Policy

In support of rapidLD's Core Value of balancing personal and professional lives, rapidLD offers paid time off for all employees each year.

Procedure

Vacation

rapidLD staff employees will receive 10 personal vacation days in the year.  Any additional vacation days will be without pay.  Vacation accrues at 0.83 days per month into a Vacation Day pool.  rapidLD employees cannot draw against their Vacation Day Pool until completing 1000 hours of service.

rapidLD tenured employees (those with over 3 years of service) will receive 15 personal vacation days in the year.  Any additional vacation days will be without pay.  Vacation accrues at 1.25 days per month into a Vacation Day pool.

Employees are required to give two weeks notice to their manager for vacation.  This notice should be via email and requires a manager to approve the vacation.  You will not be eligible to receive pay instead of vacation time except with company permission or upon termination.  Vacation time, which is taken prior to being earned, is considered an advancement of wages and, upon termination, will be deducted from your paycheck.  Any conflict in vacation requests will be decided based on employee seniority and company needs.  You will not be entitled to accrued vacation during periods when you are on personal leave of absence or if you are suspended from the company.

Employees are encouraged to use available paid vacation time for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits.  In the event that available vacation is not used by the end of the calendar year, employees may carry unused time forward to the next calendar year.  If the total amount of unused vacation time reaches a “cap” equal to one full year of allotted vacation, further vacation accrual will stop.  When the employee uses paid vacation time, and brings the available amount below the cap, vacation accrual will begin again up to the cap limit.

Employees will be paid for unused vacation time that has been accrued through the last day of work upon termination of employment.

Sick Leave

rapidLD employees will receive 5 personal sick days in the year.  Any additional sick days will be without pay except for coverage by Disability as provided in rapidLD Benefits.

Bereavement Leave

rapidLD employees will receive 5 bereavement days in the year.  Any additional bereavement days will be jointly determined between the employee and their supervisor.
